In many cases, these customers do not realise that the batteries they have purchased are not genuine. That is partly because these imitations mimic our part numbers - but only genuine batteries can legally carry the Autec logo. These imitation batteries have caused a lot of down-time, and in some cases, caused serious damage to systems, Among the problems we have seen are: • Bad internal connections. Genuine batteries are assembled with high precision by state-of-the-art robotics. Imitation batteries often break internal connections the first time they are dropped. This can stop the remote from working, or more commonly, cause it to drop out randomly • Dangerously poor tolerances. Genuine batteries are assembled with very precise tolerances - and this is relied on by the remote controls for proper connection.
